P Historical Music, Talks, and Dances Q

Hardtack & Seabiscuits is a historical music string duo using original and faithful reproduction instruments that performs at historical reenactments, historic sites, roundtables, community centers, and more. We present concerts and background music for your events, lectures and discussions of music of the 19th century, participative dances, or any blend of them all!

We take the history seriously, but we do not take ourselves seriously, so we encourage audiences to ask questions, sing along, laugh, dance, clap, or do whatever the music inspires!

Our repertoire includes 19th century music such as reels, jigs, parlor songs, sea shanties, marches and ballads to educate and entertain, holding the music of the time as a living. breathing art form to connect and inspire audiences. We customize our show to the unique history of your site and interests of your audience.

The dances we present, such as Soldier's Joy, German Waltz, and Chase the Squirrel, are those meant to get audiences involved and moving, suitable for a variety of ages and mobility levels.
